When my little girl was born, I thought that she belonged to my boyfriend. He naturally wanted his last name on her birth certificate. I was pressured to allow him to do so. Well, time passed by and her skin darkened and her hair kinked. Needless to say, she was not his. Now she has the last name of a man that is not her biological father. What can I do to change her last name? She is now 2 years old.

Check with your local court facilitator. He/she should be able to tell you what steps to take to legally change her last name. I don't know if it is different from state to state, but all it takes in WA is filing certain court papers, paying filing fee, and going in front of a judge. From what I understand, it's a rather painless process if you have the money to file the paperwork.
