My computer recently froze so I turned it off by the power bar, I've done this a few times before & nothing has happened, but this time when I did it, the computer wouldn't fully turn off..
I can log off and shut down but after I do that my computer screen flashes a bunch of different colours, my speakers don't work either..
So, every time I shut down, I have to turn the power bar off so the computers not on constantly. I checked all of the plugs & I'm pretty sure nothings wrong with them.

Help?
Please :(

Thank you.

You probably have either a virus or some sort of spyware on your computer.

Thank you.
I don't know how to get rid of any of that though :)

I'm kind of young.

Any changes that either happened or that you perhaps made to your computer around the time that the problem started; particularly any software or hardware that you installed or setup.

What operating system do you have?

When was last time there were no problems?

No , I haven't changed anything.
& I haven't installed anything.

I have windows.

& the day before yesterday it was fine..
& I've turned it off by the power bar before.

vista or XP?

Did this computer come pre-installed with windows?

Try to get into safe mode and see if you can do a system restore to when this was not happening, this should work if this is just recent

To get into safe mode:
When you start computer, start tapping the F8 key (not too fast but tapping) This will bring you to a menu, Choose Safe Mode

It will take longer than when you normally start windows

Now follow instructions for you operating system below

if XP, just go down to where it says, Use System Restore and follow instructions
Windows XP System Restore Is Easy to Use (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/helpandsupport/getstarted/ballew_03may19.mspx)

If using Vista go down to where it says, Restoring Windows Vista to a previous State

Windows Vista System Restore Guide (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial143.html)

Just make sure you pick a date when your computer was not having a problem

Post back with any errors or anything that may come up, hopefully this will get you back

The computer and screen... the monitor and tower are two separate items. When the computer shuts down... does the light on the tower go out? Because if it does, then it could be the monitor that is acting up.

Another possibility is the video card. They attract a lot of dust. It may need to be blown clean with a can of air... like DustOff. Sometimes the vid cards need to be removed and reinstalled... but be careful if you're not a tinkerer.

There are a LOT of possibilities. Could be hardware... software... virus... bot...

Keep in mind that the hard drive where all your data resides, rarely dies. And even after the system bites the big one... your data can often be retrived from the old drive by hooking it up to another system in a Master/Slave combination.

OK well I had the same problem and I have found a solution. Well there are actually a couple. If you can get your internet to open go to google.com and download the newest version of Firefox. Once done that reboot your computer and try to open the internet from Firefox. If you can't get your internet open but your computer manages to show your desktop just refresh a couple times open the control panel and see is it works. AND MY MOST Successful SUGGESTION IS TO CHECK THE WIRING AND MAKE SURE THAT THE PLUG-IN HAS A VALID INPUT TO YOUR WIRE COMING FROM THE CIMPUTER once you have checked ALL of those try simply buying a new wire or just call customer service. (by the way I am a cousin of a tech supervisor so I know a lot about this) Good Luck and I hope the best!:)
