I was charged for theft under 5000 and I never had any criminal history in the past.I was offered a diversion program but I didn't know whether I should take it or not.the thing is I didn't commit the offence and I am innocent but somehow the police report of the incident which according to what the store manager reported all false.however,I don't like to go to courts ,it is humiliating for me to talk about stealing etc... if I sign for the diversion program, will I be eligible for another diversion program in the future if something like the shoplifting charges happen again to me.and what is the advantages or disadvantages of the diversion.thanks

Only one diversion program per customer. If you are innocent why would you plead guilty without going to court. Sorry, I'm not buying it.

You have to weigh the odds of your getting a conviction against your future.

What really bothers me is your worry about a future charge. Just don't shoplift and you won't be charged again.
