My fiancé has been diagnosed with anti social personality disorder and I have tried standing beside him. He is so confused and doesn't know what he wants right now. Have I lost him forever or does he need time for his new medication (Lithium) to start working to realize what he wants:( I miss him so much

Hi, MarkThompson_86!
It can take some time for a medication to work. The dosage of medication might need to be adjusted also depending on how it works on your fiancé.
I would suggest being patient, continue to stand beside him and just see how things go.
Thanks!

Yes, narcotic drugs such as Lithium need probably at least a month to get into your system and start working like they should, and to see how the body adjusts and deals with it.
Unless he gets abusive or violent, I would wait it out and see if it helps him. Give him time for his brain to get balanced, as I assume this is what the Dr.'s are trying to do for him, and then see how he feels.
I wouldn't push him to make a decision right now, but just tell him that you will be there for him, when he needs you. Be very aware, and careful of mood swings for awhile.
Good luck!

He is going through a lot, the last thing he needs is to feel alone. Remind him that you are there for him and want to be. The drugs should work, but like everyone said, they take time.

Be patient, and see how he reacts to the drug therapy.
