What do you do when someone gains hold of your social security number then files you a 24 year old person on their taxes with out your consent? I received a few hundred for filing by myself after I found out that some one was using my social.

Do you mean that someone is claiming you as a dependent without your consent? When you file your taxes by yourself indicate that you are not being claimed as a dependent by someone else (ie. take your own exemption). The IRS will see the discrpancy between your filing and the other person's, and will investigate. You should some out all right from this. One downside for you is that is someone claims you as a dependent it precludes you from filing electronically, so you would have to use the old paper and snail mail method.
