Hi, kelpy!
I'm sorry that no one has yet come along to address your question! We do care about your question getting answered to your satisfaction! I'm responding here so that your question doesn't get buried under more recent ones and will be more likely to get noticed.
There are a couple of people who do come around now and then who really do seem to know their stuff about Sanskrit translations. I'm going to let them both know about your post by private messaging them. One of them is drkpp and the other one is visharad. Hopefully, one or even both of them will come along to address your question.
Concerning tattoos, it really is best to be getting more than one opinion, especially if someone might be thinking of putting something permanently on their body. I'm not assuming that's the reason that you're wanting to know about the translation, but just in general for anyone who does come along to see this thread and other threads like it that concern translating things that concern the written Sanskrit.
Thanks!

Okay, I sent a message to both of them. Now, we'll just have to see what happens...
Thanks!

This is the tattoo that I'm wondering what exactly means.
It says "Nirvana" in Sanskrit.

I do not know why I did not receive mail stating that somebody sent me PM. Just now I saw the PM.
The word is pronounced as nirvaana. Roughly it means "becoming spiritually liberated".
