I was wondering can I get the records on a closed adopiton. I would like to get my dads records because he died when I was 3 years old. :(

You probably can't unless there is a medical condition involved.

Closed adoptions are VERY hard to open unless both parties (the adoptee and the birth parents) are willing to open it.

You can talk to your grandparents and get as much information as you can about the adoption, and possibly contact the adoption agency and leave a letter with them in case the birth parents are looking to establish contact---but that may be as much as you can do.

You can, of course, get a private investigator involved, but that could get very expensive, and again, unless there is a medical condition involved, the court is NOT going to open the records.
