I want to dye the underneath of my hair dark brown and keep the top blonde. I have no idea how to do this. Do I make a straight line underneath and dye that or is it more specific than that?? I have layers in my so I am not sure where to do the dye. Any help would be great.

To color underneath your hair a different color. Take a tail comb and section the hair by making a straight line across the nape area. Be sure to twist the hair on top and clip it with a hair clip to get it out of the way, then apply your hair dye.

I have the underneath of my hair black, and the top is my natural light brown. To do this, I pull up the top half, and clip if out of the way on top of my head. I actually have my friend dye it for me, since I am not really good with it. I usually just make a straight line around my head and pull it up, because my layers make it fall very good. When I first had it done, I went to a salon, and they did some kind of "zig zag" part, but it made the 2 different color layers very uneven and I didn't like it, so I would recommend straight if your hair is layered. Good luck! I use L'Oreal Excellence Cream, and I love it! :)
