I feel better asking complete strangers than asking dr's.
My husband has two children, his previous wife made him have a vasectomy. It's only been 6 years and as far as I know he can still be reversed. My husband and I only want one more pregnancy... thus not wanting a reversal. I have been trying most all my life to get pregnant, and so far no luck what so ever. I understand the details are important but I just want a general answer on how. What are the different ways to conceive a pregnancy? How would I go about doing so? Do you think insurance would cover to help with the process? About how much would the process take to conceive a pregnancy, not including regular pre natal stuff?
Thank you for the time and medical advise.
Ash

If you are not interested in a reversal, then getting pregnant by your husband will be impossible. A reversal is necessary, but is NEVER guaranteed. Will insurance cover it? Most likely no as it is not a medical necessity.

If a reversal is my only option than yes that is what I will do. But I was unsure of what invetro fertilization is? Something about they take his sperm and my eggs and a petry dish and well I am not medically educated but I thought that could be an option.

In Vitro is VERY expensive and not covered by insurance as this is considered an elective procedure. It can cost upwards of $10,000. Reversal is also not guaranteed to work.
