View Full Version : Is it herpes or yeast?

So a few days ago, I had started to feel a little swollen down there, specifically on the outside. This was after a night of sex with my boyfriend so I attributed it to just irritation. Then on the 3rd day I noticed tiny painless white bumps. They were so small and nearly unnoticable. They cause no pain and would easily almost peel away with wiping. The only thing I have been experiencing is intense itching. I went to the clinic to have them assessed and the doctor said it looked nothing like the classical presentation of herpes as there are no sores or lesions, (still none and it's 2 days later) but she did a culture anyway. I am waiting on those results. The bumps are completely gone with the use of a yeast infection cream. When the doctor did a culture for the inside though, there was no yeast present. Is it possible to just have an external infection and not an internal one? Or does this all sound like herpes?

You have to have an exam by a physician, specifically an obgyne.

Best wishes, :)

OK. Well I went to the doctor already and she said it doesn't sound like "classical" herpes. And that I shouldn't worry. But has anyone experienced symptoms like this when they actually were herpes?

Yeh those could be herpes symptoms. Often herpes doesn't have the classic blisters. It can be a small bump, a cut, or redness.

I got the culture results back and I am NEGATIVE. I seriously could have danced when I found out. Thanks for all your help.
