I have a program on my Start Menu Programs List called RegSeeker (Registry Cleaner).

I have replaced it with CCleaner and would like to uninstall it.

It is not showing up on my Add/Remove Programs list in Control Panel or CCleaner.

It is still active and works normally.

Under Properties the location is listed as: C:\Documents and Settings\Mitch\Start Menu\Programs

1) How can I uninstall this? (The program does not have an uninstall feature either)

2) Why isn't in on my Add/Remove Programs list in Control Panel or CCleaner?

Thanks...

Well if all else fails, simple find the programs EXE and delete it ;)

Dirty, but effective.

What to do is to delete the folder if it lets you, if not use unlocker to unlock the system from the file and then delete the folder
UNLOCKER 1.8.7 BY CEDRICK 'NITCH' COLLOMB (http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/)

Now download and install:
Windows Installer Cleanup
This should help
Download windows installer cleanup, open app and go down list till you see regseeker and hightlight then click remove, this will remove any installer info left behind by programs removed from system.

Now run ccleaner and you should be all good

-now just delete the shortcut in start menu

Thanks.

I read about Windows Installer CleanUp Utility. Good to know it's there. Don't think I need it for this one.

I think I got rid of RegSeeker.

Did a search to find the pathway, found the main folder and deleted it. Deleted all related folders and files in search.

Did a CCleaner clean and registry clean which picked up a few more bits.

Seems to be gone.

Geez!

With the installer cleanup, if you run it and it is in the list, that means there are still 'bits' in the registry - the uninstaller will remove any installation files or paths that may still be around

In that case, I shall run it.

Thanks...

Cool utility!

But nothing there from RegSeeker.

I can't remember if RegSeeker used Windows Installer to originally install.

Thanks again...
