A credit card start garnishing my pay check after obtaining a court judgment.the amount is %25 of what I take home every tow weeks... witch is I cannot afford at this time, trying to support myself and my unemployed wife that lost her job due to the economy crisis... so I called the creditor's attorney trying to work out an agreement ,she was rude and told me since you ignored all the letters that we mailed you we cannot help you unless you pay the hole balance witch is $2400.00.and we cannot reduce the withholding amount it will remain the same until you pay off...
Any advise that my help will be appreciated...
Thank you

As far as I know, the only way to get the amount reduced is if what they are taking leaves your income below the federal poverty limit.

Yep they can take that 25 percent if that is what your state allows. And not wanting to sound rude, but yes that is why long before they took you to court you should have worked out a payment plan, at this point, it is too late, why should they agree to less if they can take the full amount each pay check.
