I have an airtemp by chrysler furnace. I have I think 4 wires off the t-stat. originally they went to a transformer 24v I think 2 conncetions. Inside the box is a 24v relay 5 connections. I see on the furnace motor the labeled the purple and black are high fan and I think blue and black are med. I don't know; 1. where all the t-stat wires go. 2. what gets conncected to the 24v relay, and which two wires go to the gas valve. 3. I know there is some type of temp sensor to kick on the fan when the furnace fires up. I just do not know where they go now. This sys is also tied to the a/c (which I don't need now but will in the future. Where do those two wires tie into this? I hope I am helpable. This just has me baffled and it is hard to find hvac help that I can afford or that will take on new clients. Can anyone help me?

That furnace is probably older than I am. LOL Can you post some pictures? I guess you have inspected the heat exchanger? If not do it now before you spend any time fixing it. Those old Chrysler units usually have a bad heat exchanger by now.

Your question is not very easy to decipher but I will give it my best shot. Normaly the thermostat wires are four different colors, sometime they are Red, white, green and yellow, so I will explain using those colors and then you will have to substutute if necessary.

The Red wire comes off the transformer and goes to the R terminal on the thermostat.

The White is the wire connected to the W terminal on the thermostat and it connects to one side of the gas valve. Now there could already be wires connected to the gas valve so connected the white to one wire only.

The green wire is the fan relay control and goes on the G terminal at the thermostat and the G terminal on the furnace, It may connect to a relay, you will have to figure this out.

The Yellow goes from the Y terminal on the thermostat to the Y terminal on the furnace or to one of the two wires going to the AC.

If this does not help then give me better info, such as do you have a terminal board for the wires to connect to.

Also it sounded like you were mixed up on the wires going to the motor. So explain that again.
