I have a 1993 Chevrolet Caprice with Police package. I was driving it and when I came to a stop light it started shaking and jerking. When I got home and turned it off, it would not crank again. It was as if it wasn't getting fuel. So, I changed the fuel filter, fuel pump, rotor, distrubutor cap, spark plugs, and fuel pump relay and still nothing. Does anyone have an idea what it might be?

Check for codes stored in the computer. Have you checked for both spark and fuel? You could have a bad crank sensor.

You have done a lot of good things. Here are several additional thoughts:

. Test all under-dash and under-hood fuses with a test light or multimeter:

. Test/replace the Ignition Control Module:

This is a problematic component and possibly the cause of your problem.

. Test/replace coil.

If the problem persists, check the ignition switch.

I haven't checked the sensors yet, but I guess that will be my next move.

I replaced the ignition coil and still nothing. None of the fuses were blown or anything. I sprayed some starter fluid in it and it fired up for about 5 seconds but that was it. I guess I should try looking at the sensors next?? What do you think?

Where did you get the fuel pump from? I would check the pressure again because if it's starting with starter fluid it sounds like the pump isn't working properly. Also check the wiring going back to the pump; double-check the fuel pump fuse as it may have blown if the new pump caused a surge.
