Jmt2077 - does the receptical for the dryer vhsave a 4 wire plug in? Or is it just three wire? If the two match ,youer OK ,if they don't match , then you will have to get a new cord ,A three Prong ,instead of the four prong, Ok lets say they match -the receptical and the dryer cord, Take the red wire and hook it to the brass collared screw on the far left side , the black wire to the far right side brass coloared screw , the white wire you hook to the silver colored screw in the center , the GREE WIRE IS THE REG GROUND WIRE AND THERE Should be a screw up above the other three that you hook the green wire to ( THE SCREW IS COLORED GREEN ) ::: If you have the THREE PRONG wire cord and the three wire prong receptical then you should only have three screws on the electrical ,hook up , You put the two hot wires ( BLACK AND WHITE ) on the two outside screws, should br brass colored screws, The copper ground wire, will hook up to the center screw, should be greencolored.;; on a three wire you have {@ HOTS- one is black and one is white, and ciopper wire is ground , Sometimes I have seen the power cord hook up plate on the dryer marked of which wire goes to { Hot,- Or ground OR NUTURAL} Good luck and stay SAFE , that's 220 you are messing with, & it has no conscience, Have a great day & GOD BLESS ::F.B.E.
