I have a kenmore gas he canyon capacity dryer. The dryer does not dry my clothing within its auto setting. It also runs for longer time in auto mode. Clothing stay damp. Any ideas what could be the problem with this dryer. I did verified for hot air coming into the drum, while running the dryer with door sw pressed.

Dryer taking too long to dry is almost always a clogged vent.
Check the air outside to make sure there's a good flow of hot air coming out. If not, get it cleaned out.

This may sound too simple but have you cleaned out the lint trap?

Kash78 - clean all the lint screens, the hot air escape ( VENT to outside) make sure the vent pipe has no sags in it this area will catch a lot of lint and clog the vent up . MY daughter and her family had just moved into a new place and a couple days later called and said her dryer would run for a couple hours and the clothes would still be wet ,I told her the same thing to try and guess what sher found , someone had stuffed a really xxxlarge sweat shirt in the wall where the vent went out. She pulled it put a load of wet jeans in and set it for proper time and the jeans were dry when she took them out . She had plenty of hot air inside also , IT HAS TO VENT RIGHT OR ELSE THE CLOTHES WILL REMAIN WET:: Good luck and GOD BLESS
