Hello All,
We recently moved in from Colorado to Pittsburgh and I found out that the cut off date for kindergarten in a public school is Aug 30th, but my son completes 5 Yrs on 17th September, I wanted to know if there is anything that I can do or do I have to just wait for one more year at preschool.

Thanks In advance.

You may or may not have any luck with deaing with the school district in trying to get him in now. Odds are you won't be able to simply because one exception would start the ball rolling and they have to have a cut off date somewhere. The extra year won't hurt him, and may even be to his benefit... especially in the higher grades.

Sorry unless he was already in kindergarten in the state you are moving from, but even then they may not.

And you will have the same issue with first grade most likely so even if he did, he would have to go to two years to the same program
