I can't remember when/where I saw this movie but all I remember is there's a bunch of creepy dolls that I think kill this family, I remember the dad being killed in his bed?

I also remember a doll with a screwdriver head or something like that..
There might be a "boss" girl doll wearing a red dress but I think that might be a different doll movie but I'm not sure.

Its been driving me crazy FOREVER I really hope there is help somewhere out there! Ha

OK, was it this movie from the 80's called "Dolls"?

Here is the synopsis:

Young Judy Bower (Carrie Lorraine) is spending the summer with her stupid, abusive father, David (Ian Williams), and nasty stepmother, Rosemary (Carolyn Purdy-Gordon). On a dark and stormy night, their car breaks down on a lonely road in the woods and they are forced to seek shelter. As they walk, Rosemary throws Judy's beloved teddy bear into the woods, and the imaginative child envisions it coming to life as a great fanged beast which slaughters her tormentors. The idea of loyal toys protecting their young owners from the ravages of the adult world is forcefully made, and imbues the rest of the film. They come upon a creepy old house owned by elderly Gabriel Hartwick (Guy Rolfe) and his wife, Hilary (Hilary Mason). Gabriel is a doll-maker and dazzles Judy with his collection of exquisitely detailed creations. Another car breaks down in the storm as well, bearing amiable Ralph Morris and two trampy hitchhikers. What they and the Bowers don't know is that the dolls are alive, and protect the young (Judy) and the young at heart (Ralph) from the evils of adulthood. ~ Robert Firsching, All Movie Guide

Could be one of the nine Puppet Master (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puppet_Master_(film)) movies. One of the doll/puppets in this series has a drill for a head--that could be what you are remembering when you are thinking of one with a screwdriver-head.

I remember this film too... I remember being really scared by it in the 80's and would love to watch it now just to see if it's still scary or ridiculous... I remember the dolls being in the loft and there was a particulalry nasty version of 'punch'... or was it a clown!? If you find it do let me know please!!

I think that I am looking for the same movie that you are looking for. During one of the scenes in the movie were the dolls pulling a heavy police officer down some stairs and they made a comment about how heavy he was?

Dolls was a movie that came out in the 80s. It was about a couple who own a mansion and would turn their guest into dolls. When travelers were passing through, their car would get stuck in the mud. The only place they could go for help was the couples mansion. The couple would let these people stay the night there and turn them into dolls. In the end of the movie a little girl and man survived. The girls parents were turned into dolls, and the man that had not been turned had to take her with him.
