We recently replaced our old thermostat with a new Noma 5+1+1 thermostat. The furnace used to come on and run for a while, bringing the temperature to 1 degree higher than it was set for. Now it is set for 20.0 C and it comes on at 19.2 and goes off at 19.6. it doesn't even bring the temperature to what we have it set for. It runs for 2-3 minutes, shuts off and then comes back on again in 3-5 minutes and does the same thing over and over. What can we do to remedy this situation, if anything. Thank you for any input you may have

A new Honeywell or White Rodgers would have been a much better thermostat choice but since you have the Noma read the install papers that came with the thermostat and in the setup section there should be a selection for what type of a system you have. Change selection or increase the anticipator circuit and the problem should go away.

I had the same problem with my new Honeywell. I adjusted the Cycles Per Hour from a 9 (default setting for my furnace) to a 4 (optional setting) and it solved the problem instantly. Your manual should tell you how to easily make the adjustment. Some thermostats also have Temp Lag, which can be adjusted to come on/off based on the temperature actually dropping how many ever degrees you set it to. My thermostat does not offer that, though.
