I need to remove silicone caulk from around a bathtub with a resin tub. I have read about 3M caulk remover and McKanica Silicone caulk Remover Gel. I wonder if any of the readers has had experience with these or any products for this purpose. The installers used a silicone caulk that can no longer be cleaned

Just from having done this myself I always use some type of a razor blade like one you use to clean paint from around windows and a good scraper with a sharp edge. Sometimes once you get a chunk of it going you can pull off a strip of it. Make sure that the crack is clean and dry then recaulk.

Recaulk with Daps Kwik Plus. It has a mildewcide built in it. A sharp tool like a razor needs a very steady hand to avoid striping a piece of gel coat from the tub. You can usually get most all of it in strips and by using a blunt plastic scraper. How on earth can you say we were inaccurate with our answers. We gave you sound advice on what to do and use. None of us use a remover gel because our approach is darn near free and better. How many folks will answer your question now that you gave everyone an inaccurate rating.

OK, the product is "elbow grease". Happy?

I can give you the name of a $400 product that I own which will help. Interested?
