View Full Version : County Gov employee needs to know at will law

I have been placed on paid admin leave due to allegations from my staff. Our county has abolished the due process procedures formerly in place. I live and work in Alabama.

My boss, probate judge/chairman of commission did not contact commission before placing me on admin leave.

The HR director did not give me anything when she told me that I was placed on leave, I had to contact her to get the complaints in writing.

The community, first responders and other county directors have called, emailed and written letters on my behalf, the judge is not at all happy with that.

I need to know if this is all legal and what actions (if any) I can take. Any assistance is appreciated.

I'd seriously consider consulting with an attorney on this issue before things really get out of hand especially if your boss is a judge.

Thank You

I am trying. I have called two attorneys, but they are busy I am sure and have not returned my calls.

Hello admin:

I don't know what you want to know. They can fire you at any time for any reason - even if you work for a judge.

The fact that you're being PAID means that you're not fired. It means that you have a paid vacation. Come back to us when there's a determination.
