What type of valve do you have ? Can you post a photo ?

i have a small leak coming from the shut-off valve of my hot water heater. what is going on
If the leak's from around the stem simply snug uo the top most nut,( the bonnet packing nut) until the leak stops. Do not overtighten. Good luck, Tom
