Please verify that the problem is:

3^a + 2^a = ?

Do they give you a value for a, or any other information? Without that there really is nothing you can do to simplify this.

need-help disagrees: umm... technically... I'm not trying to cheat on my hw, I just need help. I've already asked my parents and buddies, and they don't know either.

Please read the rules and regulations, my answer was not factually incorrect, I was pointing out the rules of this site, rules you obviously didn't bother to read, otherwise you'd know that disagrees are only for factually incorrect answers.
