We have a 50 yr old home with a boiler that we replaced when we moved in (2003). If it is below freezing outside the inside temp will barely get above 64. And the upstairs (cape cod design) will be freezing. We have to use electric heaters up there. Any idea how much it costs to replumb the house ? Or would "zoning" help ? Apparently the pipes coming from the boiler are 3/4" then go down to a 1/2" as they go upstairs.
Any suggestions would be appreciated as the kids are freezing.

My best advice for you is to call a professional for ON SITE evaluation of your system.

As stated by HVAC1000... best advice here is to have a professional come out and look at this for you.

Hopefully, they will calculate BTUs needed and can determine that the boiler you have installed there is SIZED properly.

Sounds like boiler may be undersized... but get pro. To look at it and determine for you. Hopefully, this is not the case... ;)
