My old Whirlpool drop in stove arced after power came on post Hurricane Ike. Buner doesn't work anymore so I'm getting ready to find a replacement. The opening between the cabinets is only 28 1/8" wide and I can't seem to find a 28" wide drop in on line anywhere. The cabinet walls at each end are pretty thick, but I really don't want to cut them either. Are we talking professional installation here? Beyond what Lowe's or Home Dept would do?

Check on a 30" drop in stove and look at the cut out mesurments I think it's 28 1/4 or 28 1/2 I not long ago purchased one myself cut off the power disconnected the wiring pulled the old one out and droped the new one in and hooked up the wiring cut it back on and your good to go. ( I wanted a bigger and better one but was faced with the same thing you are. )
