I need help. I have a friend that is on probation, he has never vilated any terms of his probation and recently asked his probation officer to transfer his probation to another state. He had to pay a filing fee, and fill out paper work and is now waiting. He has since started nursing school and would like to finish, I guess what I need to know is.. is it possible for him to stop the process of tansfering his probation to the other state and just finish out the remaining time in the state that he was assigned or will he have to transfer to the new state? Please help me!

If he is still awaiting the transfer he should be fine. The probation should stay active in the state that he is in still, because that is where the crime was committed. For the transfer it is basically allowing him to move to another state without violation. Just tell him to notify his probation officer and he should be just fine.
Hope this helps! :D
