Hi,

My boyfriend and I had sex recently and the condom broke. He didn't 'finish' but I am still really worried about this. My friend told me to take two birth control pills that she had because it'd be equal to the morning after pill, but I didn't get them until two days after. I'm a week away from my period and I'm really nervous since we had sex during the end of the middle of my menstral cycle and I've heard that during that time there is a great chance of getting pregnant.? Well I just wanted to know if the pills will make my period come a little late or anyone's opinion on if I could be pregnant.

Thanks in advance!

Please don't ever take anyone else's prescriptions. Where did she get her pharmaceutical degree? How does she know this equals the morning after pill? Sorry to sound like Dr. House here, but never trust a friend with prescription meds unless that friend is a doctor, nurse or pharmacist. Now she is left without 2 pills, putting her at greater risk for pregnancy.

Now, there are 100s of different types of birth control pills. There are several different types of morning after pills. Only the morning after pills should be taken as such, never birth control pills.

There is a risk that you may be pregnant, and even the morning after pill is not 100% effective if taken properly. Unfortunately you are now playing the waiting game. You must now wait until you get your period. If you are late, don't stress, sometimes stress can delay a period. If you are late, wait one week then take a HPT using first morning urine.
