View Full Version : Why is this happening in my job?

I am employed in a job I really like, but there is some strong nepatism going on in the workplace. The office manager just hired an ex-coworker, another girl who works there is living with the office managers brother, the other girl is the office managers brother's girlfriends cousin. Then there's hardworking me! The beginning of my day starts at 8am as scheduled. They all come in at that time, but really don't start working much until around 10am, that's after the hair and makeup, family issues, what did you do last night, looking up clothes videos on the internet , etc. In this time, none of these women feel they have to answer the phone, it will ring until I pick it up, (reguardless of the five things I already trying to get done. Oh, the cousin answers the phone, puts the customer on hold and tells me about it. Doesn't take the call. The new girl seems to disappear frequently and takes at least 20 minutes for a call or to wait on one customer. The office mgr and her brothers live in squeeze I caught in a back office with the door closed photocopying their butts. It's absolutely nuts. When I try to voice my complaints, I get no results or even interest. I do at least 60% of the work and leave totally drained and exhausted. The owners see this going on and actually smile about it. The mgr and her sister-in-law to be are very smart, the latter two are Dumb and dummer. I left yesterday for lunch and just said heck with it and called in. I called in today too. (FYI, something I never do) I am at the end of my rope and want to just quit. I don't see any resolution in sight. The bosses have started giving me attitudes, hello, I the only one working around here. I need some advice. These women have me doing everything, One more thing, they are all getting paid more than me, and I have been there longer than the new women, Dumb and Dumber!!
Signed, Want to quit being the Zookeeper!!

Sounds to me like you are out numbered and will get no where with complaints to the Owners, I would demand a big raise and quit if they won't give it to you. Then they will have to do all the work.

There is no win-win situation in your dilemma. If you demand a big raise because you do all the work - guess what - you probably won't get it. I'd start looking now to get out of that situation as soon as possible. Don't stay in a job that makes you do all the work as you will just go home at night and kick the dog so to speak and that is not good. I've been there, done that. The only solution I had was just leave and forget the place and the bimbos. Time to move on.

Well the answer to my dilemma came yesterday, owner called up and fired "me"!
With two weeks severance pay and vacation pay@@ Am relieved and grateful I don't have to deal with that anymore. Guess they should start calling the place "Hooters Bar" LOL
