I am SA for a Windows 2003 Server, used to add network printers. I was adding a printer, and a software program started installing on it's own(HP 1510). I tried to stop it, and now my print spooler will not start. Also, on my printers page under the start menu, the printers that were on it are not visible.

Have you gone into services to see if service is started?

Click start, run and type services.msc and hit enter

Go down the list till you see print spooler and right click, properties

Click the start button and then in the drop down menu, change to automatic and click Apply at bottom

Close services and see if you can install your printers or they appear

Just make sure print spooler is started in the services.msc menu
