I work with my ex. I manage to avoid her as much as possible, but there are unavoidable times when I have to see her.

The only thing that bothers me about seeing her anymore is when we accidentally pass in the hall. She gives me this weird half-smile thing that for some reason drives me crazy.

Well it happened again this morning and I wrote her an email telling her that I know we aren't friends but it would help at work if she wouldn't have a look on her face like I make her nasueous when we see each other.

She wrote back but was short and didn't really address the issue. I told her that I just wanted us to be more civil to each other, not be friends, and then I said never mind, I shouldn't have said anything. Have a nice day.

I have had a hectic morning and didn't really think before typing those messages. I am so mad at myself for pushing send.

Well, I wouldn't stress about it. However, it might be a good idea to consider that maybe she is intentionally smiling or looking at you weird in order to provoke a reaction, or get some kind of attention, but I have no idea what your relationship was like or what basis it ended on. If you're mad at yourself, just don't do it again. You seem to realize it was a bad idea, so just leave it at that and move on.

Well things didn't end badly and we had a good/great relationship that ended because of cultural differences that I won't get into again here.

I have thought about it and I doubt she even realizes what she is projecting to me. But that isn't important. I shouldn't let her get a reaction out of me. Like I said, I was just having a hectic morning and reacted when I wouldn't have if my mind was clear. You are right, chalk it up and move on - thanks :)
