I am renting a parking spot from a resident in my condo. I have paid her for the past 4 months and she has a number of cheques from me for our verbal agreement. She now wants to kick me out of the spot to give it to someone who is willing to pay a dollar a day more. Can she do this. Does the exchange of money imply a contract? I don't have another spot and cannot park on the street.

Yes it shows you are renting but what terms are you renting under, since this is or sounds like either a week to week or a month to month ( how are you paying them)
But they can give you notice and then rent to someone else,
They have no obligation to keep renting to you

Contract can be made in writing or oral. If the agreement is verbal, there is a contract even if it is not reduced into writing. Such contract will have the force and effect between the parties which they should honor and abide.
But some statute may require certain type of contracts to be in writing. To answer in this regard I would have to know from what state are you.
