This book that I absolutely can't remember the name of was about an old lady that lived in a
Victorian old house and had a pet alligator or crocodile. All I can remember is she sent a note by this alligator through a flood to someone in a town far away. That's all I can remember except visuals of pictures. Anyone have a clue what the title of this book is?
Thanks.

Most of those were in paper format and are long since out of print. You could check the Weekly Reader site (Weekly Reader Magazine - Welcome Teachers, Students, and Parents (http://www.weeklyreader.com/)) or call them at 1-800-446-3355 or call the children's department of your local library. I'm guessing you are out of luck.

The name of this book is Alexander and the Magical Mouse. I have two copies! I am trying to remember the titles of even more of the Weekly Reader books from the 70s. If you can thing of them, please let me know!

I just remembered one I've been trying to think of for years. "We Were Tired of Living in a House". I loved it sooo much.
