My question is in regards to my final wedding photographs. The package that my wife and I purchased included an engagement photo session. We completed this session and even purchase a few extra 8x10s since we were so pleased with them. Then the wedding album came and the images were wavey and unclear. We were confused by this since the engagement images came out so perfect. When I approached the photographer about this we were told they were digital photographs. We feel like we had been taken advantage of since the first pictures were excellent and the rest were of poor quality. How do you suggest I handle this situation? We really don't want to cause any problems, but we have to have satisfactory final images. We never asked about the photographs being digital, but how could we be to blame when the engagement photos are head and shoulders in quality better than the wedding ones? Thanks for your help.

This sounds a little like your photographer was calm and had plenty of time during your engagement shoot, then things became quite different during the actual wedding. Which is why good, experienced, professional wedding photographers are so sought after. If the quality of the images is poor you certainly shouldn't pay for them - in fact he should be compensating you! Telling you the bad quality it's because they are digital photographs is just nonsense. I am a pro wedding photographer myslf.

If you are asking what legal options you have if the photos are as bad as you say you can ask for a portion of your money back (the wedding photos which are totally unacceptable) in writing. If the photographer refuses, go to Small Claims Court.
