We have had to replace the igniter in our furnace at least 4 times in a little over a year. What could be making them burn out? We had two go out in just one weeks time! This was 12-25-07. We had a new one installed late April of this year so it wasn't used that much. We turned the furnace on last Friday (10-10) and on the 16th it wasn't igniting again. We are expecting our neighborhood repair man to give us a call today. He was gone for the weekend. We are seriously thinking of a new furnace! Thanks, M. Olson

No need for a new furnace but make sure that NO one touches the ignitor surface with there bare hands. The acid on your fingers make them go bad quickly. Like in your case. Also better ignitors are now available the hold up much better.

For the new style part number you will need to check with a supplier or wholesale house for HVAC.

The kist are available for your furnace. I have included the link. From silicon to nitride conversion kit.

NOTE: you might get rid of the neighborhood repair man since this could also be part of the problem with replacing ignitors so often.
