I have to contest my own divorce with two minor children involved. I have no lawyer and have to do this on my own. He has a lawyer. I live in OR. I have two weeks left. Anyone ever do this or any guidance on how to do this.

Are you saying that you are still married and your husband filed for divorce and you don't want that or is there something about your divorce that isn't right? Here's the general rule about court... if one party has a lawyer and the other dosen't the party with the lawyer will win. Can you give a little more detail because from just those sentences it looks like this could turn messy fast.

My husband left me over three years ago. We have had relations up until two months ago. He found a new woman and filed for divorce along with wanting more time with the children. He has only taken them on weekends and now is taking them during the week, which is messing up their stability. He is living with her and my children are in an environment that they are not used to and feel uncomfortable with. He has a lawyer and I don't. I have to fight for custody of my children and contest the what is is the divorce papers he has given me. I was wondering if anyone has ever been through this. I have been their primary caregiver and he is in the military.

Well then when you show up for court you have to show that the children are better off with you during the week and with him on the weekends. All you can do is argue your side and hope that the judge sees it the sameway you do. His lawyer will argue that it is in the children's best interest to be with him as much as they are with you or as much as possible so that they have both parents involved. You will have to show how that disrupts their lives. Though I have to say the standard run of the mill visitation is every other weekend plus one night/afternoon and evening a week if you live in the same general area plus two consecutive weeks during the summer and every other holiday.
