Hi,
I applied 1 year ago for Green Card through employment and got married few months later. After almost 1 year, I decided to apply again, but at this time through marriage since my old process was to slow. I had my interview already and my marriage was approved, but my process is still pending and I don't know when I will receive my Green Card. The reason is that the office where the interview occurred required my previous file and it didn't receive it yet. They want to compare the information on both files. Now I want to go to my country to spend Christhmas and New Years with my parents and I am afraid. I have the travel authorization from the immigration. Is this safe?

If you entered US with any non-immigrant visa, you are not eligible to apply for re-entry permit. You must wait until you receive notice of approval before leaving US, otherwise, you will not be allowed to enter US and will have to continue the rest of the process at the US consulate in your home country.
