Hi, I have an associate that is not paying on their invoice. I was wondering, how to find out how many times this individual as been sued? I need to know if I can find this out on-line. I reside in the San Francisco Bay Area. Thank you for your help.:mad:

Many of the California Courts are on line - that doesn't mean the search is free. Search out California Public Records.

Is there a particular reason you want to know how many times they've been sued? I don't see how it could effect your situation... but I don't have the whole story either. You could just take them to court for the amount they owe you.

You could call the Clerk's Office of the Small Claims Court and the Circuit Court and ask them to look up this information for you. They don't ask who is calling or why you want this information. This is public information.

As Judy said, you could look online as most court records are online these days, even in the small towns here such as Donut Hole, Ohio. I've never paid any fee to look online at a Court House if the records are kept online. You could have to pay if you wanted a complete statewide search however.
