View Full Version : Adult child paternity rights?

Can anyone tell me if I have any right to determine who my father is? I am 32 years old, and have been trying tactfully to contact the man who is said to be my father. I want nothing more from him than the truth... is he my father? If he is, all I am looking for is family tree information and relevant medical information, if any. This doesn't involve anything weird, just classic teenage sex from the 70's that resulted in a baby and classic paternal denial. Any legal recourse for me?

I share the same problem as you. If you find out anything, please let me know.

Hello e:

Well, you've really been digging. This post is from 2004. You don't have a legal recourse against your dad if he doesn't want to be tested. However, you can get some of his DNA and do the test yourself. The cops do it all the time. Go pay him a visit, and take one of his cigarette butts.
