I am trying to find out if my ex husband was adopted . The person he called mother died of cancer . We have children and now there is a possibility that my 16 year old daughter could have something , we found a tumor , it is benign but if we don't care for it it will turn cancerous according to the doctor. Anyway in the past his family has mentioned that he may be adopted (I can't get a hold of any of them ) I personally wouldn't care if he was or not I just need to know for the sake of my daughter . He won't talk about it and has said in the past that he doesn't believe it . Can I find out if he was adopted ? :(

Honestly, I'd talk to a lawyer about this one.
You're working on hearsay, and have nothing definite to point you to the idea that he was adopted. Also, what are you hoping to accomplish? His mother had cancer, your daughter could have cancer--sounds like a match up to me!
I don't think you can force someone to search for a POSSIBLE birth parent unless someone's life is in danger, if even then. For instance--if your daughter needed a kidney, and neither you nor your ex matched for donors.
So... if you REALLY want to pursue it, then you're going to need a serious lawyer on your side, and you're probably going to have to be willing to spend a lot of money---IF you can do it at all.

Also while they ask family history, what difference in the medical treatment will there be if you find out there was or was not,?
