I have a ceiling fan that has the model # AC-552. SKU # 134-674. It has w # E75795. It is operated by a switch on the wall for the fan and switch for the light. When I turn the fan on, it turns on high and forward. There is no switch, no chain no remote or remote receiver wired to it and there is only a common and hot wire and a red wire for the light. It does not appear to have any wiring for a remote. The question is, how do you change the speed or direction of this fan?

Direction could only be a small switch on the fan, speed can be controlled by buying a special 4 position wall switch, some have a slider dimmer next to them for the light.

What type of wall switch does it use?

Have you inspected the fan body on all sides?

It sounds like the fan may have been modified. Pictures would help.

Any holes in the fan body where a switch would go?

No.Nothing. No swithces or place for swithches. I have accedentally refersed its dierction manually by stopping the fan when it was moving and turning it the other direction? Other than that no swithches or holes or remote sensors up top nor in the attic.

It sounds like it is a remote fan missing the remote.

Are the light and fan controlled by SEPARATE wall switches?

Yes, two different switches one the fan and one for the light.

Sounds like someone installed a remote fan without the receiver.

The question is, is there a reverse module inside the motor housing. If not, there is probably a reverse switch hidden on the fan.
