My grandmother is 97, she lives with my Dad and he takes care of her. He is retired and only receives SSI and a pension. He is an authorized user on her credit cards and uses them sometimes for her healthcare etc. Upon her death would he be responsible for the credit cards. She has no estate, property, just a small savings, and small life insurance probably enough to cover burial expenses. The credit card debt is less than $6,500.00.

If, he is only an authorized user, not a co-borrower or gurantor, and he used the card only to pay for her expenses, then he wouldn't be responsible.

- Agreed and I would be very, very sure that this is his status, that he has never consent to making payments, signed a contract, agreed to terms, used it for himself.
Not saying that the credit card company could sue and win, just saying they could try.
