Can I put my rent in escrow? My place is going in to forecloser. I don't think that my landlord will pay on braking the lease. So if I put my rent in escrow. At lease there will be something for me to get from him. Is this a thing I can do?if not is there any thing I can do?

Well, you can try it, basically. At least that way if he were to attempt to evict you, you'd have the money.

There's been a lot of discussion on here about what the "right" thing is to do. Obviously, being a LEGAL board, we need to advise you that legally you must still pay your rent according to your lease. But there's been a lot of discussion about the idea of setting aside the rent into an escrow account each month. That way it's "there" - you didn't just go out and spend it on something else. It shows good intentions on your part.

Have you had contact with your landlord? Is he coming around demanding the rent? I think there's a mix between landlords who still have the *alls - I mean guts - to come ask for it and landlords who just fall off the face of the earth and the tenant never hears from them again.

Well unless you live in California yes you legally have to pay rent even if it is in foreclosure, if you don't they may evict you. If you put it in escrow, you will pay it at court if they take you to court for not paying.

I mean the landlord may not do anything ifyou just stop paying, others will evict you
