I seen a film a few years ago about a Man whose wife dies and his 3 sons are taken away into orphanages and are abused and beaten. Finally in the end he gets them back. Its really sad and old enough I think. Can anyone think of the name?? please help:D:D

Please please please someone help me anything at all that would help me to find it its driving me crazy! He has 3sons the 2 oldest are taken to an orphanage together where they are raped and beaten. The youngest little boy is taken to a catholic school where he is looked after by nuns. Its really sad in the end because when he finally gets them back they are so messed up, scared, depressed and they don't even know him. That's all I can really remember
