Hi all,
I understand that the best days are 10-14 day counting from the first day or your period. But what I would like to know is that how are the other days?? I mean are there high chances or as good as nil?? Also anything in particular that one should do or eat when trying to conceive??
Thanks!!

Days 10-14 are only the best if you happen to ovulate during that time. Even then, if you ovulate on day 10, but have sex on day 12 it would be too late.
There are a number of ways to determine when you are most likely to ovulate, with 12-16 days before the next period is due being a starting place. However, some women will ovulate before this or after this on a regular basis.
Watch for changes in your cervical mucus/discharge. When your body is preparing for ovulation, you may notice the discharge becoming more abundant, clearer, and more fluid. This is the type of mucus that allows sperm to survive for a few days waiting for an egg to be released. When not in the fertile stage of your cycle, sperm will die off quickly.
Other women find using ovulation predictor kits or temping and charting work well for them. Some find both methods frustrating and not helpful.
If possible, some couples will have sex every other day throughout an entire cycle, and a few extra times when they think it is likely a fertile time, to try and hit the mark.
Even with good timing, however, it can take several months, even a year or so, for couples to conceive.
Making any lifestyle changes that you know are healthful (both you and your partner) is the place to start... quit, or cut back, on smoking, limit alcohol intake, get some regular exercise, healthy eating, etc. anything that may apply to you. Start taking a good multivitamin (partner as well) or a prenatal vitamin with folic acid while trying to conceive. Folic acid can help prevent certain birth defects that occur often before women even realize they are pregnant (many foods and drinks are fortified with folic acid as well).
