Hey my internet keeps disconnecting, I have phoned up my ISP they increased the noise level on my phone line which obviously hasn't helped. I have my laptop, desktop and xbox connected to my router, it's a netgear DG834v3. To begin with my I thought my internet disconnected at random times but I actually think its around 7 oclock (I live in england). The routers lights stay green, its just the internet will suddenly run slow, then web pages won't load and then my xbox dsconnects. When I go into my router settings it says there is no IP address and the only way I can get it working again is by switching it off at the mains and back on again. My laptop says IPv4 address and desktop says IP address when I run ipconfig in command. I don't know if that's a problem or not but my desktop is XP and my laptop is Vista. Please help I don't know what to do. Thanks.

I have somewhat of a similar problem with my PC at home. I think my problem is the driver for the network connection needs to be deleted and reloaded. I have to keep rebooting my computer every so many hours also and I called my provider and they said it was not their box (I have DSL) but it was my computer. My OS is XP as well. Glad to know I'm not the only person in the world that has this problem as I was starting to think I've gone around the bend.

Yer I think it might be a peaktime problem.

I had the same problem. The ISP vendor escaped saying that their part is OK. The vendor installed the computer could not detect the problem and referred me to ISP, who in turn, referred me to manufacturer of computer. I was in a fix. Ultimately, after spending lot of time, I found that the LAN card inside CPU developed moisture. It was cleaned up and the connectivity problem gone away . Can u pl. ckeck the LAN card ?

How did you clean up your LAN card? I have my computer on 24/7 usually so I'd be surprised if it was moisture. My LAN says it's functioning correctly though when I do the troubleshoot/repair thing though. Then it just starts running slow and then disconnects. Oddly enough the little icon in the corner says it's connected at the proper strength but when I open the icon it shows the Network Connection Details pop up screen as empty rather than displaying all the proper entries. The only way to solve this problem is to reboot.
My connection stops after anywhere from 3 hours to 6 hours - sometimes less than 3 hours.
