My mom received custody of me from my dad because I was receiving verbal abuse from his fiancé. Now that I live with my mom I have received verbal and physical abuse and threats from her and her boyfriend. My mom has ERASED OR THROWN AWAY ALL EVIDENCE THAT SHE HAS FOUND. How can I get an emergency emancipation?

How old are you? There is no such thing as emergency emancipation. You have to go to Court and prove you are self supporting through pay stubs; you must have your OWN place to live - not live with someone else; you must have either graduated from high school or attending high school; in some States there's a minimum age, such as 16 or 17.

You CAN go to the Police or Child Welfare and report the abuse, of course, and ask that they step in and remove you from the home.

Why are both sets of parents/step parents taking things out on you?

I'm 17 and will be 18 in April. I'm trying so hard to find a job and I still haven't been able to. I would wait until I'm 18 but the abuse gets worse and I have heard that since I will still be in high school I will still be a dependent and won't be able to move out. I am attending high school and graduating this year with a core 40 degree but it gets harder for me to go everyday because I'm always so upset and I have to hide it and it makes it hard to concentrate. When I was at my dads it was because I got in trouble for taking marijuana to school and it was like everyone's view of me changed because I was curious and made a mistake. And my moms fiancé and my mom got in trouble to because I took it from their house and they blame them getting in trouble on me. I was only 13 when it happened and didn't know what to do so I just told the truth. And when my mom gets into an argument with her fiancé which is at least once a day she takes her anger out on me because I'm the only one there. All the abuse I have had to deal with has gotten me to the point where I have to see a psychologist because even when nothing is wrong I still cry.

Sorry you can call child protective services and they can take you out of the home, but you will need some proof.

Forget emancipation. Before you can get emancipated, you have to show you can live on your own. That means a job a place to live etc. At this point, it, by the time you can arrange it, you will be 18.

If you are in an untenable situation, then your best option is reporting it to children's services and see if there is a foster care situation you can get into until you graduate HS.

You are legally incorrect - you cannot be emancipated in any State I know and live with a friend. You MUST be - and be able to prove - you are self sufficient. The State is not going to emancipate someone and have that person end up collecting Government benefits.

If you are aware of a State which will emancipate with housing and support provided by a friend, please post it because the question is asked all the time and no one wants to be giving out incorrect info.

Short of telling your therapist, (which you mentioned you have... ) or going to the school counselor you might want to try to go to the police station. Tell them that you are being abused both mentally and emotionally. Let them assign child protective services to your home to protect you.

How about calling another family member and telling them of your worries and fears? Like perhaps an auntie? Or Uncle? Maybe they can take you in till you turn 18, (you can help them out by working at a burger shop or something like that... )

How about a good family friend.. Ask if you can sleep over at your bffl's house more often?

Legally an "emergency" ANYTHING never happens w/out a lot of paper work and "red tape"... which take nothing but TIME.

You should definitely keep telling as many people w/ power to help you that you can. At the very least it might stop your mom from hurting you physically since she knows she's being watched...
