Hi, I am about to turn 65 years of age in a few months and I have a home that will be paid off in 13 months.I have 1 homestead exemption and my taxes are under $300 a year.I receive supplemental security income and have no other assets.I have 2 children
On my deed/mortgage that are in their 40's.What I want to know is will I still
Have to pay property taxes on my home? Secondly,by my children being on
Morgage/deed will I need to remove them off or does this not affect anything?
Last,my home need a few repairs I'm not able to cover are there any national
Assistance/ thanks

You will need to check with a local property attorney and/or the tax office, Normally yes while there are some homestead exemptions for owners and for the elderly, this normally merely lowers the tax, not do away with it, But you may go down to the tax office and discuss this with the clerk there.

In some places if other people are on the deed, that do not live in the home, it can mess up the homestead exemption if they don't live in the house, Your real estate attorney that did the transfer to add them should have advised you of that.

No, you will need to see if there are any non profits in your area doing any remodel or any city ( government) spoinsered programs.
