Aunt had stoke.Whats the law on this. Ive heard that they have to give your job back upon your return up to 2 yrs. Is this true?

That sounds right if you are living in Ontario. (if I am remembering correctly)
Each province/state had its own set of laws on this though. You need to check into what your province/state says on this.
Most laws are online.

If she is able to do the required work then they should give her job back.

Hello Hector:
If your Aunts’ job was protected by a union contract, then depending on that contract, she will or won't be given her job back. Her job might also be covered by a personal employment contract. Those, however are rare.
Absent the above, she is employed "at will". That's a legal term which means she can be fired for any reason whatsoever (other than discrimination), even if the boss doesn't like the color of her eyes.
I agree, they SHOULD give her job back. It's also true that I SHOULD be 30 years younger. In the real world, however, SHOULD doesn't apply.
