I have a 1998 ford windstar mini cargo van and my doom lights won't go out when I shut the doors, the courtesy light switch may be bad I was told by a friend so I went and bought one and can't see where it go's to I looked all under the dash and can't see anything that even looks close to what I bought. I double checked the part number and it's the right one but where does it go to? Any advice would be helpful

I know this is a typo but I'm an accident investigator and the term "doom lights" instead of "dome lights" has me with the giggles. I do a lot of accidents where they really are "doom lights."

Otherwise - I have no idea.

Go around to each door courtesy switch, push them in and out one by one to see if the light will flicker off momentarily.
Some rheostat switches are mounted in the instrument clusters.
