I cannot find any information on this artist "Johnson" which is signed on an old picture I purchased from a church garage sale... it was donated... I don't know any history on it, but I am attaching photos of the picture in hope someone may be able to tell me about it or the artist.

I have taken a look at a couple of the attachments of the images here. The painting with the flowers in the vase is beautiful as well as is the frame!

It's too bad that we have been having some problems on this site with the posting of images right on the threads because of the site upgrade that happened about a week ago. Hopefully, that problem will be resolved, soon!

Are there any numbers, letters, words, symbols or names anywhere else on the painting itself, the back or the frame, please? If so, knowing those might help here.

Yes there is writing on the frame back and on the back of the canvas itself. I am away right now but will send info when I return home this evening.

On the frame backside is handwritten in black 777 16x20 3011

Stamped on the frame backside is an artists pallette with the words ANCO BILT ? I am not sure of the first letter being an A.

Then beside that is the number 3 16. (that may not be a 3 either, looks like two horseshoes to me facing each other).

Then again it says on the stamp on backside of canvas "original oil painting unlawful to copy with the number 1472216.

This "Whimsical Pig" on eBay has a similar Johnson signature, though your close-up is very fuzzy:

Thank you for the information. I did look on eBay at the signature and it sure looks like the same one. I emailed the seller to find out if he had any info on the artist, since he didn't list one on his painting.
